In our crazy world that is spinning out of control, how can the new generation find its path? Step on the cyclone and go for the ride, or, through education, acquire the skills to create your own future. Placed across from Columbia University, “Topsy Turvy” was conceived to honor the effort made to acquire knowledge to create a better world. The figure stands on her head with the spinning globe balanced on her toes. The globe is covered with autobiographical characters that populate my world, and the play on Atlas carrying the globe on his shoulders denotes an upside-down world.
